Start a Healing Hub

Initial Stages

If you’re interested in starting an Acorn Christian Healing Hub, let’s start with a friendly conversation between you (and any team you already have), and Acorn, where we get to know eachother and decide if Coordinating an Acorn Christian Healing Hub is something you and we want to do. If you are ready to get started we will then chat with you about your chosen location/venue, Hub formats, team recruitement, and training. We will help you advertise your Christian Healing Hub and direct people to you if they are in need of prayer.

If you don’t want to coordinate a Healing Hub and want to join a current team, just let us know and we will go through similar stages. The best thing to do first is come to the Acorn Christian Healing Academy to get a taste of Acorn.

 

What Are the Requirements?

Acorn Christian Healing Hubs are run by Acorn Volunteers. To become a volunteer for Acorn you will need to:
  • Complete a short application form
  • Complete a Self Disclosure Form
  • Provide two references who can speak into your competency in Christian ministry
  • Complete the Acorn Christian Healing Academy (you can start your Hub prior to finishing)
  • Complete the Acorn Listening Academy (one day)
  • You will be able to start ministering with your Hub after six months of training and preparation. This gives time for personal discipleship issues to be journeyed through and planning to take place. However, we do suggest meeting as a Healing Hub team during this period to pray with one another.
  • As a Healing Hub Coordinator you will be required to attend bi-monthly Coordinator meetings on Zoom for one hour.

 

What Is Acorn’s Involvement?

As a Coordinator of an Acorn Christian Healing Hub, you and your team will be supervised and supported by Acorn's leadership team. It is important to us that you enjoy your involvement, so we are always here to answer your questions, help you get set up, and walk alongside you as a support. This includes:

  • Regular in-person visits to your Healing Hub for bespoke training and support
  • Online supervision when required
  • Regular Healing Hub Coordinator Meetings online
  • Advertising
  • Administrative support

 

Your Healing Hub will operate under and within Acorn’s insurance policy, meaning that you are protected professionally and legally.

As a Healing Hub Coordinator you will receive a Coordinator Handbook (please request one if you are interested) and we will be with you every step of the way.
