Important Staffing Update
Dear Friends and Supporters of Acorn, “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” — John 12:24 Writing to you in moments like this is never easy. Change can bring uncertainty and grief, and we want to share openly with you about a difficult decision the Trustees have had to make. Over recent years, many of you have faithfully stood with Acorn as we have navigated ongoing financial challenges. Despite careful stewardship and much prayer, our resources have now reached a critical point. As Trustees, we have had to take steps to ensure the charity can continue its core ministry into the future. The most painful of these decisions has been to make our Director of Operations, Lisa, redundant after more than ten years of dedicated and faithful service. Acorn can no longer sustain the cost of employing full-time staff. Lisa’s final week with us will conclude on January 17th. This staffing change will naturally lead to some adjustments in how we operate. Our Healing Hubs will increasingly be hosted and overseen by local churches rather than centrally managed by Acorn. Many hubs are already working in this way. Acorn’s role will focus on training, formation, and equipping leaders, and hubs will continue to be able to say their leadership is “Acorn trained.” We want to reassure you that Acorn will continue operating as normal as we enter the New Year. Your ongoing financial support makes this possible. We have events already scheduled, ministry continuing, and training opportunities planned. We warmly encourage you to visit our website for details of upcoming ministry and training events. In this season of transition, your prayers are especially valued — particularly for Lisa, and for those carrying responsibility during this time. Your generosity remains vital as we move through the coming months and continue the healing ministry God has entrusted to Acorn. If you have any questions or would like to talk further, please don’t hesitate to contact us at trustees@acornchristian.org or kris@acornchristian.org. Thank you for your faithfulness, your partnership, and your continued support. Faithfully yours, The Acorn Board of Trustees
