Essential Ministry Skills

New for 2021!

 In nine one hour online sessions we take a look at some of the key issues that we all encounter when we minister to someone else in Jesus’ name. 

Essential Ministry Skills is ideal for groups and individuals seeking to become better at what you already do, both in church and everyday life settings.

The 9 video sessions will be available to download over 3 semesters from the Summer of 2021.

Semester 1:
Developing a Philosophy of Ministry: How beliefs and behaviours shape what we do

Pastoral Ministry: How people experience ministry 

Prayer and Prayer Ministry: The basis of praying with and for others

There will be interviews with those already doing the job to give you a ‘hands on’ view of how it works, and you will have moments of guided reflection to help you consolidate your thoughts. During each session you will hear a personal story from someone who has experienced God’s grace through the ministry of others in that particular area. 

We want you to leave each session with something tangible, so each session will end with an ‘And now’ - giving you practical things to do to take the next step, and we will leave you with a question to continue to develop what you have been learning. If you wish - you will be able to send your answer to the question (250 words max please) into Acorn (ems@acornchristian.org) and we will give you a brief response to to help stimulate your thinking.
